Campo Santo, the independent studio responsible for the Firewatch video game, has announced on the official company blog that the company was purchased by the Valve Corporation, the company behind the Half Life franchise and the Steam digital distribution system.
So, the 12 employees of Campo Santo will now work for Valve and they will continue to work on the development of their project: In The Valley of Gods. We’re getting a new first person adventure the story taking place in Egypt in the year 1920. Players will get the chance of playing a disgraced explorer who, along with an old friend, goes on assignment in Egypt in order to reestablish her glory.
With this purchase, Valve will continue to provide support for Firewatch and, most likely, Valve will also manage the release of this game for Nintendo Switch.
