Although many of the controversies of the current world, especially those that are not comfortable for people in charge as quietly labeled “Conspiracy theories”, time has proved that many of them are real conspiracies.
So, let’s take a look at the world’s biggest conspiracies.
10. Big oil companies have spent the last 100 years blocking the development of the electric car
Precisely, this conspiracy theory is perfectly depicted in the “Who Killed the electric car” documentary released in 2006 in which we see that technologies that would have allowed the cheap and fast development of electric cars have been shutdown by big oil companies.
The first time this happened was back in 1989 when a competitive electric car prototype reached a speed of nearly 98 miles per hour, which was an awesome performance for the end of the 20th century. Despite this fact, nobody heard anything about that prototype anymore and series electric cars of the 20th century hardly reached speeds of 20-30 miles per hour.
The second important setback for the electric car happened in 1913 – 1914 when the joint efforts of two of the most biggest inventors of that time, Henry Ford and Thomas Edison, of producing a cheap and effective electric car were stopped by a group of people with a lot of money and influence.
The “last battle” took place in the 2000’s when General Motors “willingly” buried the EV1, the first electrical car prototype of a huge auto builder which entered series production for a shirt time ( 1996 – 1999 ).
9. The 2004 Tsunami was caused by a bomb
The 2004 Tsunami hit the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004, killing 229,866 people. It is the seventh biggest natural disaster in history. But what if it’s not a natural disaster but an intentional genocide with the help of a so called tsunami-bomb, a nuclear weapon that was detonated in a strategic position on the bottom of the ocean ?
Conversationalists say that the technology capable of causing such a tragedy is doable, since research in this field have been conducted ever since World War II, and experiments with tsunami-bombs were done in 1944 and 1945 in New Zealand. Also, ever since 1997, 7 years before the 2004 Tsunami, William S. Cohan, the Secretary of Defense of the United States said that there are groups who have the ability to engage in eco-terrorism through military technologies capable of changing the climate, causing earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. Even so, outside the theory that everything was just a large scale test, it is hard to determine the reason of those who might have hit the South East Asia so hard through the 2004 Tsunami.
8. World Trade Center terrorist attacks
This may very well be the hottest topic for conversationalists in modern history. One one hand, there is a conspiracy theory that says that some people from the U.S. Government and U.S. Secret services had knowledge about the attack but decided to do nothing like it happened back in the day, on December 7, 1941, during the Pearl Harbor attacks in World War Ii.
On the other hand, it is speculated that the explosion of the two airplanes that hit the World Trade Center towers were not powerful enough to cause the collapse of the towers and the collapse happened because of controlled explosions ( there are witnesses that claim to have heard these explosions ) and the Pentagon was not actually hit by a plane.
Now you might wonder why the U.S. Authorities let this happen ? Well, to trigger the war on terror, to justify the increase in defense funding and to justify the “legal” breach of privacy and civil rights.
7. There is no global warming. Everything’s just business
Some conspiracy theories claim that the so called climate change is a fraud for financial and ideological purposes. The whole frenzy caused by global warming is actually something cooked up by a group called Bilderberg ( 130 rich people with global influence, from bankers to politicians ) who are using global warming to secretly establish a World Government. One of the supporters of this conspiracy theory is a famous climatologist, William M. Gray.
Gray says that along with terrorism, global warming is the number one public enemy the international power system needs after the Gold War to help the world leaders abusively take political, economical and social “needed” measures.
Because of the world’s obsession with global warming, politicians, scientists, business magnates, U.N structures, as well as many secret organizations such as the Bilderberg and Roma Club have a lot to gain.
6. AIDS, Ebola and SARS were made in the lab
In the last 20 years, one of the most popular topics for horror novels and movies is that the virus has got out of control and this is causing the Apocalypse.
But few know that such fiction topics appeared after some theories promoted by scientists who believe them to be true. According to them, AIDS, Ebola and SARS are actually biological weapons that were secretly created by the U.S. Government.
Moreover, spreading AIDS in Africa is just a mass genocide controlled by some U.S. Government groups and the bird flu was just a world wide test and a warning for China.
Conversationalists who promote this theory also claim that right from the start there was an antidote for these diseases but it is kept secret.
5. Who killed Kennedy ?
It may be considered the classic conspiracy theory example. Actually, many sociologists say that it is the turning point in conspiracy history, the moment when conspiracy theories transformed from the intellectual play of a narrow group of enthusiasts into a mass phenomenon.
The explication is quite simple, according to psychologists: John F. Kennedy had a huge popularity and his assassination was perceived as the traumatic shock we feel when a friend or loved one dies.
The official version is that Lee Harvey Oswald killed J.F.K but many do not believe this.
So, who killed Kennedy ? We’ll probably never know because regardless of any official answer we might get, 46 years after the event, there are so many conspiracy theories out there that will make us even question the truth. The most rumored real JFK killers are actually the Federal Reserve, CIA, KGB, FBI, Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, Fidel Castro or the Mob.
4. Aliens are real
Everything started on the night of February 24, 1942 when many eyewitnesses say they have seen many UFOs on the sky of Los Angeles, and the Air Force had opened fire on them. Just like the case of JFK, the authorities have not provided a clear answer to the public. We have to say that the UFOs were not seen by 2 or 3 people, but by thousands.
Five years later, on July 7, 1947, the famous Roswell incident happened. At that time the U.S. Army allegedly recovered an UFO that crashed near Roswell, New Mexico. More than 1000 people claim that they saw the UFO. Moreover, conspiracy theorists speculate that the U.S. Army also recovered the body of an alien. The official explication is that a water balloon exploded but many do not believe the official position.
3. The world is ruled by secret organizations: Masons, Illuminati, Skull & Bones
There is a large group of people, including scientists, who claim that the world is not run by elected officials but by some secret organizations such as the Masons, the Illuminati or Skull & Bones. Whether this is true or not, we’re never going to find out.
2. New World Order – World Government
This is the hardcore version of the previous theory. Conspiracy theories claim that a very powerful and secret group that includes the most influential members of different secret societies are plotting to rule the world through a World Government with the purpose of replacing the sovereignty or countries. The group is allegedly responsible for the modern financial climate.
- Zionism – the world is controlled by Jews.
This is the oldest and biggest conspiracy theories of all time.
In the 20th century the theory was promoted by a controversial document that says that Jews along with Masons are conspiring to control the world. There is too much to say about the document however the main idea is that everything that happens in the world is controlled by a powerful and secret group of Jewish people.
