The wreck of the famous Titanic is quickly deteriorating and might become unrecognizable very soon, according to the historians who are studying the famous wreck.
A team of ocean explorers who analyzed the wreck of the Titanic, which is located at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean are saying that parts of the ship are still in surprisingly good condition while others have been completely destroyed.
The biggest deterioration has been noticed in the starboard of the ship, in the region of the crew’s rooms.
Historian Parks Stephenson, specialist in the history of the titanic says that he was surprised to see parts of the Titanic that are deteriorated. “The captain’s cabin is one of the favorite places of Titanic enthusiasts but now its gone. The entire cabin is in collapse and when it crashes it will also destroy the rest of the rooms. Titanic returns to nature” Stephenson says.
Right now, oceanic currents, the corrosion caused by salt and metal eating bacteria are the main culprits of the speedy deterioration process of the Titanic.
The Titanic has been on the bottom of the ocean for more than 100 years now, approximately 600 km’s off the coast of Canada. The famous Titanic ship hit an iceberg during its first trip from Southampton to New York in 1912. The Titanic was carrying 2200 people, passengers and crew, but only 700 survived. The wreckage of the Titanic was discovered by a team of French and U.S. researchers in 1985.
