Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Slovenia are the safest countries for travel in 2020 according to a Travel Risk map created by International SOS insurance company.
The map is created based on potential risks tourists may face, such as infectious disease and political violence. The map is created in five colors which represent the security level from “insignificant” to “extreme”.
Predictions for the year 2020 regarding travel show the Northern countries being the safest for tourists.
On the other hand, the most dangerous countries for travel world wide are Afghanistan, Central Africa region, Somalia and Syria.
Some countries have mixed scores, for example, some areas in Columbia and Mexico are considered to have average risk while others have high risk.
A representative of International SOS, the insurance company who created the map, told CNN that this map is created based on feedback from clients. The map can be seen here.
The United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and most of Europe are listed as being countries with low travel risk. Most of Africa is considered to be very dangerous for travel.
