Naughty Dog studio is working on many interesting games right now and the most recent rumors are talking about a remake of The Last of Us especially for PlayStation 5 consoles. The remake has not yet been announced but some sources close to the studio say that the game might arrive by the end of this year.
The first rumors about a remake of The Last of Us for PlayStation 5 have started to appear in April of 2021 when a Bloomberg article said that the project is in the works at the Visual Arts Service Group division of Sony in San Diego, but this happened before Naughty Dog asked for full control over the remake.
We know close to nothing about The Last of Us remake for PS5, but this is no reason to think that some insiders have not started to dig about information. For example, Jeff Grubb says at Kinda Funny Gamecast that The Last of Us remake for PS5 is scheduled to arrive this year, most likely in the winter. Jeff Grubb most likely follows on the footprints of another popular gaming leaker. In January, Tom Henderson said that the remake is in the final development stages and might arrive in the second half for 2022.
Jeff Grubb and Tom Henderson enjoy a good reputation in the gaming community because they make accurate predictions. Besides, Naughty Dog is also targeting the highly anticipated multiplayer component for The Last of Us 2, initially created for PS5 but it is also scheduled to be released for PC.
