We now count less than 40 days until the first episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 will be aired and since the producers of the Game of Thrones show were very discrete about the way things will evolve in the last and final season, fans are still busy creating theories about who will end up on the Iron Throne.
Yet, one thing is for sure: Game of Thrones will end with an epic battle, which will last throughout the entire final episode.
According to available information, the last Game of Thrones episode will ad up to almost 90 minutes of battle in which everybody focuses on beating the Night King in a battle that will take place in the north, at Winterfell. This may very well be the longest battle scene ever put on the screen. Filming for the battle took 55 days ( the other longest battle – Battle of the Bastards – in season 6 took 26 days to film ) and most of it was filmed at night.
“It was the most unpleasant Game of Thrones filming experience. It was a kind of test, a horrible one. We went to sleep at seven in the morning and when we woke up we were so tired we couldn’t do anything. Then we started all over again” Iain Glen said, the actor who plays Ser Jorah Mormont.
“Night after night, again and again, without stopping. Sometimes we thought it wasn’t humanly possible to continue, all you wanted was to cry” Maisie Williams said, the actress who plays Arya Stark.
“We now pray to never have to do this ever again” Rory McCann said, the actor who plays The Hound.
The first episode of the last and final Game of Thrones season will air on April 14, 2019.
