Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Philip of the United Kingdom has surrendered his driving license to the police. His decision is related to the accident he caused in January.
The Duke of Edinburgh, 97 years old, was involved in a car crash nearby Sandringham, Norfolk, where the royal family spends most of the winter season.
Prince Philip was driving a Land Rover when he crashed into a Kia. The Duke managed to get away without any injuries but a woman from the other vehicle suffered mild wounds.
It is a very good thing that the Prince has finally decided to give up his driving license. At his age, regardless of his health, he has no business driving on public roads.
