The most recent Natalie Portman movie, Lucy in the Sky, aims for the Oscar awards with the premiere set for October of 2019.
In the Lucy in the Sky movie, Natalie Portman plays the role of a female astronaut named Lucy Cola who returns to Earth after a mission in space but she slowly starts to lose contact with the reality she knew. Lucy in the Sky also features Dan Stevens, Zazie Beetz, Jon Hamm and veteran Ellen Burstyn. The movie is directed by the creator of the Legion TV series, Noah Hawley.
The Lucy in the Sky movie is inspired by the real story of NASA astronaut Lisa Nowak, arrested in 2007 for the attempted kidnapping of Colleen Shipman, a U.S. Air Force captain, who was involved in a romantic relationship with astronaut William Oefelein. The kidnapping was planned down to the smallest details and in the day of the kidnapping Nowak was carrying a gun, pepper spray and gloves.
Three other big movies are going to be premiered in the same weekend, movies that have the potential of winning awards: Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix in the leading role, The Current War starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Pain and Glory.
