After TeaserPlay graced us with clips showcasing potential remakes of games like Grand Theft Auto III or Red Dead Revolver in Unreal Engine 5, the company is now back to apply the same recipe to one of the most praised titles in Sony’s portfolio: the first game in the God of War series.
To create this “remake” of the God of War game, TeaserPlay used Unreal Engine 5’s tools, such as Lumen (for lighting), Nanite (for scenery details), but also ray tracing. Last but not least, for the reproduction of the faces of the characters Kratos and Zeus, Epic Games’ Metahuman tool was used, which is responsible for creating realistic virtual human beings.
The God of War series was launched in 2005, with the first two adventures of Kratos being released for the PlayStation 2 console (2005 and 2007, respectively). They were later remade for the PlayStation 3 as part of the God of War HD Collection.
Currently, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 console users with a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription can play the first two titles in the God of War series in the remastered version HD via streaming.
