Rumored a few months ago, the new subscription based service for gaining access to Android apps has been confirmed by Google through a Twitter post.
Google Play Pass subscriptions can be purchased from the Play Store at a price starting from $4,99 / month. Users who get the Play Pass will get access to premium apps and games offered by the developers who opted to participate in this program.
In theory, the Google Play Pass service will allow you to use money more efficiently, subscribers getting access to apps that were regularly available in exchange for money. The Play Pass can provide a constant source of revenue for both Google and app developers. From the user’s point of view, this subscription based service can only be a good thing.
What is interesting is that Google has opted to confirm the Play Pass service just a few hours before the release event of the new iPhone smartphone.
