A very important and essential app on any Android device, the Play Store might soon introduce video ads, ads that will be used to promote apps that you might be interested in.

Currently in testing at the moment, video ads might appear inserted in search results and when we visit the page of an app we might want to install. According to images provided by Google to showcase the new promotion mechanism, videos will never be added with the autoplay feature activated ( at least for now ).

To compare, Apple allows developers to pay to increase the visibility of their apps in the App Store, bumping them to the start of the search results, but Apple does not offer a video ads feature. The decision is not random, as video ads are generally disliked by users.

Google is also experimenting with interactive video ads, with different actions based on the choices the user makes.
