Samsung Galaxy S10+ is the smartphone of the moment, but we don’t have to wait until it arrives in st ores in order to get an idea about the phone’s performance. DxOMark, a french company that is specialized in testing photo cameras integrated in smartphones has already tested the new top of the line phone from Samsung and reached a clear conclusion: The Galaxy S10+ has the best camera on the market.
Right now the Galaxy S10+ comes in first in the DxOMark rankings. It is listed with a score equal to that of the Huawei Mate Pro 20 and P20 Pro however it comes with its advantages, especially when it comes to the frontal camera, which is significantly better than the camera Huawei integrated.
The total score of 109 comes down from the 114 points photo score, equal to that of Huawei smartphones, but also from the 97 video performance score, at a tie with Huawei Mate 20 Pro and one point below the Huawei P20 Pro. Actually, regarding video performance, DxOMark says that the best smartphone on the market continues to be the Xiaomi Mi 9, with a score of 99 points.
The best things of the Galaxy S10+ camera are the white balance and natural colors correctly displayed under every condition, reduced noise in weak light, exposure calculation so that very illuminated areas are not “burned” and a very pleasant bokeh effect. The video component also enjoys quality exposure and very good stabilization but also very fast focus.
The frontal camera of the Galaxy S10+ also got some very excellent results. It now comes first in the DxOMark Selfie chart with a score of 96 points, well in front of phones such as the Google Pixel 3, Galaxy Note 9 and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. Huawei smartphones got a score of 75 and 72 points respectively.
It remains to be seen for how long the Galaxy S10+ manage to stay in front from the camera quality point of view. Next week we expect new smartphones to be announced from manufacturers such as Nokia, Sony and LG, each of them being very focused on building an advanced camera system and, in one month, Huawei will announce the Huawei P30 smartphones during an event that will take place in Paris.
Considering that Huawei was on the first place for almost one year, we are sure that the new family of smartphones will try to match or even surpass last year’s performance.
What is very important to know is that Galaxy S10 family of smartphones will not disappoint when it comes down to photo performance. This is a very useful piece of information if this is one of the criteria that has some sway over the things that can influence you in buying a new smartphone.
