Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Facebook, announced that more than 270 Facebook pages and accounts owned by Internet Search Agency have been deleted. It is believed that Internet Research Agency was involved in manipulating the 2016 presidential elections.

In a post on Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg explained that the Internet Research Agency has tried to influence the Russia, United States and Europe public opinion through multiple Facebook and Instagram accounts.

The IRA organization has repeatedly acted to deceive and to manipulate people in the United States, Europe and Russia, Zuckerberg says. He also says that the IRA created hundreds of fake accounts to influence the 2016 presidential elections.

Alex Stamos, the Security manager of Facebook, explained that most accounts that were deleted were in Russian and targeted people from Russia.
