If Avengers: Infinity War had a duration of 2 hours and 20 minutes, Anthony and Joe Russo needed a longer duration for the conclusion provided by Avengers: Endgame.
The three phases of the Marvel movie Universe, which started 11 years ago with the Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk movies, will end with the release of Avengers: Endgame movie.
Avengers: Endgame, which has its premiere next month, is the sequel of one of the most suspenseful movie endings in history and will be the conclusion of the events that took place in the Marvel universe so far. One thing pretty hard to do because there are a lot of stories and superheroes, reason for which Anthony and Joe Russo wanted a lot of big screen time for Endgame.
Multiple publications reported that Avengers: Endgame will have a duration of 3 hours and 2 minutes, information that has been taken from the AMC website but also from the official IMDB page of the movie. We’re waiting for a confirmation of the duration from Disney and Marvel studios. Comments from the Endgame directors suggest that the movie’s duration will be of three hours after the last editing has been done.
The longest Marvel movie so far was Avengers: Infinity War, with a duration of 149 minutes. Moving up to 182 minutes is significant and shows that the producers wanted to focus on all characters and important details and to bring on the big screen the best possible version of this final act of the Marvel universe.
The 4th phase of the Marvel universe movies will start with Spider-Man: Far From Home and will be premiered in July of this year.
