U.S. President Donald Trump says he doesn’t know anything about the WikiLeaks website, despite the fact that he mentioned the WikiLeaks website many times in the past.
Donald Trump was asked earlier today, in the Oval Office, what he thinks about the arrest of the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, in London.
“I know nothing about Wikileaks, it’s not my thing” Donald Trump said as an answer to that question.
Associated Press says that Donald Trump mentioned the WikiLeaks website more than 100 times during his presidential campaign back in 2006.
WikiLeaks is responsible with releasing compromising emails sent by Hillary Clinton, Trump’s opponent in the 2016 presidential elections.
“I know nothing about Wikileaks, it’s not my thing,” Pres. Trump says when asked if he “still loves Wikileaks” following arrest of founder Julian Assange. Then-candidate Trump repeatedly praised the organization during the final weeks of the 2016 campaign. https://t.co/EDXbyTbtEx pic.twitter.com/eEqMMJWCIb

Julian Assange was arrested earlier today in London and, besides the charges he faces in Sweden, Julian Assange might also deal with the U.S. justice system regarding the release of more than 700,000 confidential documents by WikiLeaks, the website he founded.
The U.S. Department of Justice underlined earlier today that Julian Assange was arrested so he can be extradited to the United States, where he faces up to five years in prison.
