Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Galaxy Note 8 have started to complain regarding the fact that the display wakes up at random times.
The Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 are top of the line phones from Samsung. When you want to buy a top smartphone from Samsung you will surely choose one of these models. However it seems that these smartphones are far from being perfect, even if they are not cheap at all.
Many Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 owners have started to complain on Reddit regarding the fact that the screen of their phones wakes up at random times, without any intervention from the user. As the screen is the biggest battery eater it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this effects the autonomy of the battery.
To make things worse, the screen wakes up at maximum luminosity. This happens when the phone is charging but also when it is simply on the table.
From what it seems the problem was caused by a firmware update released for Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 at the end of November. What is a bit frustrating is that, right now, there is no solution and it may be very difficult for you to have it replaced on warranty. Restarting the phone to factory settings makes no difference. At this time Samsung has made no comments regarding this issue.
