Gearbox Software has made an announcement many expected at the PAX East 2019 event: Randy Pitchford’s studio is working on Borderlands 3, and an extended trailer of the game was presented in Boston.
As you can see, some characters of the series – Lilith, Kincard, Sir Hammerlock, Mordecai, Brick or Tiny Tina – will return in Borderlands 3, and the antagonists will be the Calypso twins: Troy and Tyrene. Gearbox promised to reveal more details about the upcoming Borderlands 3 game next week, on April 3rd.
Borderlands 3 was not the only news shared by Gearbox at PAX East 2019. So, the first Borderlands game will be re-launched in a new package called Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition – with 4K textures and graphics, support for High Dynamic Range ( HDR ), all the DLC content as well as many gameplay improvements ( such as a mini-map like the one in Borderlands 2, splitscreen multiplayer for up to four people ).
Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will be available very soon, on April 3rd, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. On Steam, the owners of the original Borderlands game will get the new edition for free.
Also, the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which includes remastered versions of the Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel games will also get an update that will make the game compatible with 4K, HDR support for PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One X or for those who own the PC collection. The 4k update for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will also be available next week.
