American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his prison cell awaiting trial for charges of sex abuse and child trafficking. His dead body was found on Saturday in his cell in a prison in New York. According to sources it appears that billionaire Jeffrey Epstein took his own life.
Jeffrey Epstein entered a plea of not guilty for sex abuse and children trafficking charges. His request for bail was denied.
Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, a man close to former U.S. president Bill Clinton, U.S. President Donald Trump and Price Andrew was facing up to 45 years in prison. Jeffrey Epstein was arrested on July 6 in New Jersey.
This is not the firs time when Epstein tries to take his own life as he made another attempt on July 25. He was found unconscious in his cell.
11 years ago, Jeffrey Epstein, 66 years old, a man with deep ties to Hollywood and U.S. politics, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty for soliciting. At that time he was accused that along with his personal assistants lured minors into his Palm Beach residence where they raped or sexually abused them and paid them between $1000 – $2000.
The sentence was reduced to 13 months and one year probation. He was also introduced into the national sex offenders registry. In prison, Jeffrey Epstein lived in a private cell. He was able to leave the prison for 12 hours a day to go to work, a situation that has been harshly criticized back then.
Last year the Miami Herald published an investigation that said that the prison regime was obtained following a meeting between Epstein’s lawyer and former United States Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta, who was – back then – chief prosecutor in Miami.
Ever since then Jeffrey Epstein continued to be part of the social life being close to people such as Katie Couric, George Stephanopoulos, Chelsea Handler, Woody Allen and Price Andrew of the United Kingdom.
Jeffrey Epstein was also close to people like Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Chris Tucker, Kevin Spacey, Larry Summers and Mort Zuckerman. Being one of the donors of the Clinton Foundation, Jeffrey Epstein ensured transportation services for Bill Clinton via his private airplane. Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker also used Epstein’s private plane to travel to Africa.
