If you bought the Battlefield V game for Battle Royale, then we have some good news for you: the wait is over and Firestorm is ready for launch.
Electronic Arts announced that Battlefield V will have a Battle Royale gaming mode but the publisher chose not to implement it in the game when the game was released back in the fall of 2018. However, it arrives a few months after the release of the game.
The Battle Royale mode for Battlefield V is named Firestorm and it was developed by Criterion in partnership with DICE ( the developer of the game ) and it is a battle royale adapted to the Battlefield universe. So, in Firestorm can play a maximum of 64 players, divided in teams of four. The last team standing is the winner.
Electronic Arts says it comes with the biggest Battlefield map ever and in the classic style of the genre the map is surrounded by a circle of fire that will shrink one step at a time.
Firestorm comes with the classic elements of a Battlefield game: loads of vehicles that can be driven by players, objectives similar to those from the Conquest mode ( you’ll get better equipment as you complete objectives ) but also the possibility of destroying the things around you.
In the trailer above you can see that you can use many vehicles, even planes, you can fight with whatever you have at your disposal and you don’t ever have to stop because you risk getting burned by the circle of fire.
PUBG started the whole battle royale madness. Fortnite made it popular and now all important games come with this game mode. Read Dead Online 2 also introduced a battle royale gaming mode inspired by PUBG and Fortnite.
Call of Duty:Black Ops 4 also added a battle royale mode and Apex Legends is the newest Battle Royale game that is starting to make a lot of noise.
In just one month, Apex Legends ( also a game by EA ) has managed to get 50 million players. Let’s see if Apex Legends manages to keep its popularity and – why not – increase it.
Firestorm, the Battlefield V battle royale mode will become available starting with March 25, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
