Apple has recently removed 17 malware infected apps from the Apple AppStore. It appears that the apps were developed by a single company called AppAspect Technologies, which used the apps to render hidden ads which lead to websites possibly infected with malware. Users were not aware this was happening because the apps were described as being “simple utility apps” which indeed did what they were supposed to do.

Even if Apple removed the apps from the AppStore, many users might still have these apps installed on their iPhone or iPad devices. If you are using any of the apps listed below you should stop using them and uninstall them right away:

  • RTO Vehicle Information
  • EMI Calculator & Loan Planner
  • File Manager – Documents
  • Smart GPS Speedometer
  • CrickOne – Live Cricket Scores
  • Daily Fitness – Yoga Poses
  • FM Radio PRO – Internet Radio
  • My Train Info – IRCTC & PNR
  • Around Me Place Finder
  • Easy Contacts Backup Manager
  • Ramadan Times 2019 Pro
  • Restaurant Finder – Find Food
  • BMT Calculator PRO – BMR Calc
  • Dual Accounts Pro
  • Video Editor – Mute Video
  • Islamic World PRO – Qibla
  • Smart Video Compressor

These apps were also found in the Google Play Store but the Android versions of these apps appear to be clean and safe. Also, these apps have more than 1 million downloads on the Google Play Store so they are kind of popular, which means that many iOS devices might still be using them.
