Egyptian Archaeologists discovered a 4300 years old pyramid

The leader of the Egyptian Archaeologists announced the discovery of a 4.300 years old pyramid in Saqqara, the burial place of ancient Memphis leaders.

Zahi Hawass declared that the pyramid could belong to queen Sesheshet, the mother of King Teti, founder of the Sixth Egyptian Kindom dynasty.

The Archaeologists that world on the site, 19km distance of Cairo, will know for sure who the owner of the pyramid is only after they will enter the burial room and read the inscriptions. Two of the Farrow Teti’s wifes are buried near by.

The refference to queen Sesheshet were found in the texts of ancient papyrus. In one of them, the queen asked the doctors to cure her of hair loss.

Zahi Hawass teams worked near the ancient steps pyramid in the world, the one in Saqqara, the main “city” of the egyptian royalty, before Giza Pyramids.

The discovery of this pyramid was made two months ago, after two years of hard work, when it was made clear that the 4.8 meters structure was indeed a pyramid. ” We often find a tomb or a statue, however the discovery of a pyramid is very rare. There has to be more important things to be found here” said Hawass.

Hawass mentioned that this is Egypt’s 118th pyramid!
